Okay, so for the first project in 140, we're to take a masterpiece still life and recreate it using all of the tools and tricks we've learned so far. For this particular piece, I decided to go with Cezanne's "Still life with peaches, carafe and figure". So the first thing to do is get the picture:
Now that I have the picture I need to do a rough sketch which you see below:
The first part of the drawing needs to be rough and light so that there is room for improvement. Also you need to get the outline, the foundation of the work of art. The peaches are just circles, the carafe is rough, and the rest of the table is still nothing but rough outlines. From that point, you need to find the Plumb lines. Plumb lines are lines that intersect certain things on the work of art. To pick those out, look at the painting. There is a plumb line on the lowest peach that interects the first peach in the bowl on the left. Also the stem on the wine glass intersects the two peaches below that.
